In my current art practice, I am using body language and gestures to emit emotions. I am interested in translating portraiture in a way that doesn’t involve a perfect rendering to create realism. I want my imagery to be understood and to develop feelings without all of the information present. This way of working is more enjoyable for me because the work becomes effortlessly emotive and perfectly flawed. I am exploring more expressive techniques with my mark-making and color choices. The medium I use in my screenprints allows for fluidity and control, and the textile pieces also involve me being more hands-on during the process, which is what I love.
